Handling mistakes

- [Voiceover] We all make mistakes. But by following a few simple rules during recording, we can make it relatively easy to fix those mistakes and end up with a professional looking and sounding screencast. First, before starting to record, make sure that you have a clean starting state for your document, that way if you need to start over you can quickly and easily get back to the starting state for your project file. For instance, I'll typically go into my Documents folder and press Command + Shift + N to create a new folder, and call it Backups. Then, before beginning to record, I'll hold down the Option key on my keyboard and click and drag my project file into that Backups folder. Notice that as you hover your mouse over top of the folder, the mouse gets a green icon with a plus indicating that you're going to make a copy into this location. When you release your mouse, the copy is made. Now, you know you're covered. If you have to start over, you can delete your existing project…
