Scaling and reframing media

- [Instructor] Let's take a look at scaling and reframing media. First, I want to know my project settings. I'm going to right click the canvas, choose Project Settings and note here that my project settings are 1920 by 1080 or commonly called HD, sometimes 2K. I'm going to close that out and I'm going to select my talking head video clip. Choose Details and the dimensions are 3840 by 2160. Commonly called 4K. Basically, my video clip is 4K and my project is 2K. If I select the video clip, you can see here in the Properties panel, Camtasia has rescaled this to 50% to fit on the canvas. What this means is if I want to, I can scale this clip up as high as 100% without any visible resolution loss. The higher resolution video gives me all kinds of creative options, like the illusion of a multi-camera shoot or just make things more interesting. And I can also hide cuts and errors.
