Using the Spotlight FX

- [Instructor] The spotlight effect creates a virtual light that you can place into your scenes and animate over time. Drag the spotlight widget onto a clip in your timeline to apply the effect. The spotlight effect is represented on the canvas by this line. At one end of the line, you have your light source. At the other end of the line, you have your light's target. Click and drag on the light source and target to create a sweeping lighting effect across your clip. Notice that since the spotlight effect was placed on the background of your clip, it's not interacting with our Explore California logo, which is placed on a higher layer in our timeline. In the properties inspector, you can change the color of the light cast on your clip. The default is white, but selecting a different color creates an effect as if you had lit your scene with a colored gel in front of the light. I'll change mine back to white light.
