- [Instructor] New to Camtasia 2020, we have duh duh duh dun, the track mattes feature. I'm going to show you the basic overview of track mattes, which is pretty simple, but be aware, this is a powerful tool with a lot of creative production options. What I have here is just some basic text over a motion background, but because my text is on a track matte layer, it creates a mask showing only my background layer through the text. Let me show you how I did that. All right, so in this next section, I have some text, just some basic text, and I have a motion background, and I've also applied a colorize effect to this motion background just so it matches the Camtasia colors, not necessary. Now what makes this work here is turning my text layer into a track matte layer. If I come over here to this little eyeball on the same layer, right-click, I have four track matte modes.
