Achieving perfectly level shots
- In some cases, it can be important to have a perfectly level shot, a perfectly level horizon, for example. And the Canon 5D Mark IV includes a couple of options for helping you make sure that your shots are perfectly level. First off, we can see a leveling display within the viewfinder itself. That option is disabled by default, but I can go into the menu under Viewfinder display and I can enable the electronic level. Just choose the Show option so that that leveling display will appear right in the viewfinder. So then, when I'm looking through the viewfinder, I can just press the shutter release halfway, see that display at the top of the viewfinder and then adjust the camera as needed. But, if you wanted even larger display, especially if you're using the back display, I can go into the Info option. So, if I cycle through pressing the Info button twice, I get a large leveling display on the back of the camera. And then, I can use that as the basis for fine-tuning the overall…
