Improving power-up speed by changing sensor cleaning settings
- Having a clean sensor in your camera can be critically important and I'm sure every photographer can appreciate that if they've ever had to clean up dust spots on one of their images or maybe multiple images and many cameras today include an automatic cleaning feature including the 5D Mark IV and that is by default enabled so that when you power on or off the camera, there is the automatic sensor cleaning taking place and that can certainly be a helpful feature to help make sure that any dust that's gotten onto the sensor will be knocked away during that process, but you might want to disable that feature if performance, if you want to be able to power up that camera so that you can start shooting as quickly as possible because with that sensor cleaning enabled, of course it takes a little bit of extra time to power up the camera.
