Leveraging dual pixel raw captures
- One of the topics that I think every photographer is at least familiar with on a basic level, but might still be a little bit confused about, is that of the pixel. We talk about the number of megapixels, how many millions of pixels are included on a given sensor in a digital camera, for example, but as you're probably aware, with many cameras, each pixel in the camera is not actually recording a full pixel's worth of information with a sensor, a common sensor pattern, each individual sensor within, each individual pixel, essentially, is only capturing either red or green or blue light and then in post-processing all of that information is interpolated and put together so that we get a full-color image. Well, now things just got a little bit more complicated, because the Canon 5D Mark IV includes what's called dual pixel technology for the CMOS sensor.
