- [Instructor] Like so many we take on in life, we like to have an idea of the big picture, the destination of what we're working on, the scope of the work before we do it. So before you dive in to determine what your learning content is, it is important to have a clear idea of what you are doing and why you are doing it. Let's start with the scope of the work. Project scope determines and documents the specific project goals, deliverables, tasks, costs, deadlines and milestones, and roles and responsibilities. A scope statement explains the purpose of the project and establishes expectations. During the project, this documentation helps the project team remain focused and on task. When you are determining your scope needs, return to your project purpose and align your needs with that purpose. Let's create a scope for a case study.
