- [Narrator] One of the biggest mistakes I've seen when learning content is moved from the in person to the online space is the assumption that learners will have the same relationship with the instruction. Even saying that out loud, I have one of those game show buzzers going off in my head. Well, before we hit a Whammy, let's take a look at how to engage learners in an online environment. One step I always suggest is creating an introduction to the training that includes a bit more about the instructor or facilitator. It's fun to add a personal touch by including a hobby or a favorite quote or an all time Pac-Man high score. Let the learners get to know you a bit. This is also an opportunity to state what the expectations are and how learners will be supported through the program. The second, is to find ways for the participants to interact with each other.
