Add interactive video with Vimeo streaming - Captivate Tutorial

- [Instructor] If you like to use interactive video our Vimeo video interactive for our learners. So let's go back to slide three and start by adding our interactive video from Vimeo. Clicking this button allows us to select Vimeo if it's not already selected and then type in the URL. if it's not already selected and then type in the URL. Now you can copy and paste a link from Vimeo directly if you wanted to. directly if you wanted to. You can just type in this if you want to use the video I'm working with. You can see the number after vimeo.com and click okay. Going to take a moment to load the video and pop it on our slide. and pop it on our slide. I think it's going to work out pretty nicely on this particular slide. What's going to look different about this video is when it opens up the timeline down below, you're going to see a different looking playhead. There's our video object. There's our timeline. And there's the playhead. You can see the red handle at the top, You can see the red handle at the top, has a couple of buttons right below it. You can see one to insert bookmarks, the diamond shape to insert overlays. So as we move the playhead, you can see the video on the slide starts to play. And there's information showing up in captions down below. And as we drag this to around the 10-second mark, you can see there's information about the academy being available to all franchise owners and their employees. So that might be a good place to add a bookmark. So, with our playhead there, we click the plus sign and type over the word Bookmark and whatever number appears there. I'm going to type in Customers. That's the Customers bookmark. Click the check mark to lock it in. Click the check mark to lock it in. It's now added to the timeline. It's now added to the timeline. Notice that changes to a delete button if we want to remove it. if we want to remove it. And we can even slide it around if we wanted to as well. All right, let's continue with the playhead here. We'll click and drag it. You can see the bookmarks left behind. Let's add one more around the 27-second mark is where we're going to see some information about registration. Okay, people can register online or in person. So click that little plus sign inside the square to insert another bookmark. This time, how about Register. There we go. All right. So if we wanted to, we can move the playhead around. You can see the bookmark stays. We can move those bookmarks to be more specific if we want. And of course you can delete them by clicking the little delete icon if you no longer need them. I like that just the way it is. I like that just the way it is. All we have to do now is program these little buttons down below to take us to those bookmarks. So if we click Our Customers, it's just a shape. So if we click Our Customers, it's just a shape. When we click Use as Button here on the properties on the right-hand side, we can now go to Actions and when people click this, we don't want it to continue, and when people click this, we don't want it to continue, we want to jump to a bookmark. And the bookmarks now appear down below because we've added them to the timeline. So Customers is the one we want. How to Register? Well, we want to use that as a button. Click the Insert Overlay and your slides pop up. So remember, we created this one ahead of time, this knowledge check question. Now we can use it by clicking it. It becomes the first overlay. And what's cool is you can have multiple overlays and the order that you click is the order that they appear. You can deselect them by clicking them as well. We just have the one question. We can have multiple question slides if we wanted to in this overlay, but let's just insert the one. It gets inserted and changes over here in the film strip to show up as an overlay. It also shows up when we hover over it here on the timeline. And you can see when we hover, there's actually these little navigation buttons. If we had added multiple questions, we could move through them here using these arrows on the left and the right. these arrows on the left and the right. But we just have the one. If we move our playhead over, you can see there's the overlay. We could add more if we wanted to this timeline, but I think it's time now to preview this. So let's go up to the Preview dropdown. If your browser's not already open, it's going to launch it, open up a new tab, and a play button appears open up a new tab, and a play button appears where we can play our project.
