- [Instructor] Utilizing your own user variables allows you to customize Captivate's behavior specifically for your project. So let's try creating our own variables and using them to customize an interaction. So here's the completed project that we're building toward. So on this slide, the user can select which character they want to assign tasks to by clicking on a picture. Then they can click the plus and minus buttons to add or subtract the number of tasks that they want to assign. Also, notice that the character's name and the number of tasks that they're assigned are displayed in the sentence on the bottom right. So we're going to start by creating two variables. One is going to keep track of the character that's been chosen, and one is going to keep track of the number of tasks. So to do this, I'm going to go to the project menu, and then choose variables.
