The Capture One Pro interface

- I thought before we get too far down the road, it'd be a good idea to take a look at this interface and go over the basics, so that we're all on the same page. Let's start in the middle, where the Thumbnails are. You can adjust the size of the Thumbnails with this Slider right here. Make them bigger, make them smaller, have the grid the way that you want. If you want a better look at an image, you can double click or double tap on it. That puts us in this mode here. Our Thumbnails will either be to the side or at the bottom. That is a preference and you can set it the way that you want. I like them on the side myself. Now, if you want to go back the Thumbnail Mode, you click on the G key. That's what takes us back to this. Alrighty, let's see here up at the top we have a whole bunch of tools. Let's go back to this. Let's say that I'm working with the Crop Tool and I want to go back to the Pointer Tool. You can always get to it over here. This is kind of like home base but I usually just hit the V key. The V key brings us back, regardless of which tool we're in. That'll bring us back to the Pointer Tool. Now over here on the right side, we have our Before and After. We can turn on and off a grid. We have Exposure Warning and we have this cool Learn Button. This is new. And if you click on it, it's right here in the interface. It'll give you this Learn Dialogue and you can see the different areas that are available. They have videos. You click on these videos, it'll open them up in the browser and you can check this whenever you want. I think it's really nice that it is here in the interface. Our Copy and Apply Buttons are over here. We're going to do a whole movie on those. There are lots of fun. Over here on this side, the left side. We have the Auto Adjust. We're going to do a movie on that. You have your Reset Button and then your Undo and Redo Buttons. So you can, if you do a bunch of work on it, you decide you don't like it. You can go back one step at a time, or you can go back to the very beginning. Back to the beginning of time. Import and Export Buttons right there. The last thing I want to show you is the Tab Bar right here. Generally speaking, you'll start and do your organization in the Library Tab. We're going to do a number of movies on this here to help you organize your assets. But there are a number of other tabs too. One that you'll spend a lot of time in. Probably is the Exposure Tab, where we have these tone adjustments. There's a Color Tab as well. You know, there's lots of good stuff here. Your Metadata Tab is over here. So all of this is managed over here. Alrighty. Down at the bottom, you do have a little bit of Metadata Information. So you know what's going on the File Name. And then if you choose to, you can do star ratings. By the way, star ratings are easy. You just hit the number of the stars that you want. For instance, if I want to make this a 4, I just hit the 4 key. It goes to 4. If I want to take it back to 3, just hit the 3 key. So that is a basic look at our interface. This is where all the action is. If you need more stuff or need to search for something, go up to the Menu Bar up here and then you have all the standard things that you would look for in any application. You know, so you have your File Menu, your Image Menu, your Adjustments Menu. Now it's very rare that you'll have to go up here. Just every now and then. That's one of the reasons why I hide it. It's kind of a distraction for me. I like the nice clean interface without it. I'm working right now in MacOS Big Sur. And that's why I get to turn that on and off. There's a look at the Capture One Pro 21 interface. It's a beauty and we're going to do lots of good stuff here.
