Adding edge loops and smoothing

- Modelling by extruding edges is an easy way to create a mesh. However, the edge extrusion method of modelling doesn't give us a very smooth or contoured mesh structure. Blender gives us a number of tools that will allow you to get a smoother, more organic look to your meshes. We're going to go ahead and move this edge loop right below his knee, and we're going to kind of stretch it up over his leg, kind of like he's pulling his sock all the way up to his hip here. To do that, we're going to zoom in here so you can kind of see what we have to work with. We're first going to delete these top polygons because the truth is we don't need them anymore. We're not going to do polygonal extrusions from here on out, we're going to do edge extrusions. The advantage is we immediately inherit that smoothing technique that we already looked at, plus a few more tools. So, I'm going to go ahead and turn off my Transform. Remember, that's the Control-Spacebar if you want to just turn it on and off…
