Adding the mirror modifier
- If we have elements that are mirrored on the opposite side of the model, like a leg, or an arm, an ear, a hand, whatever, we don't want to have to model those elements twice. Blender gives us a nifty tool called the Mirror Modifier to make the task of modelling symmetrical elements easy. We have to set up our scene, though, properly for the mirror modifier to take effect. So, the first thing we have to do, is we have to get this pivot, or this center of the object, which is shown by this little yellow dot, in the right place, and we have to make sure that all of our elements are centered. So, first let's center our element. I'm going to go to the front view again, and you can see that blue line right there is the center, and right now, our image plane is a little bit off, and that means our leg's going to be a little bit off. So I'm going to go ahead and click on the image plane and move it over, and we'll click on the leg and just kind of scoot him over. Now we're all set. Now…
