Blocking out the arms
- In this video, we'll block out the arms of our creature model. The arms are fairly simple objects to model, but we'll need to ensure that our mesh is designed to follow the creature's anatomy, so that large muscles like the biceps and the shoulders have a mesh structure that will allow us to properly sculpt on the mesh later. Now, here's where we left off, in that we've got this hole here where his arm is. Now, there's lots of ways that you can build the arms. They're pretty simple, they're a lot like the leg. It's basically a cylinder, but we've got to get the edge loops to follow the contours of the different muscles, and just the direction of his arm in general. We could build cylinders, and hook them together, but I find the easier way to do it is just to alt + select this opening, in his chest, and we're going to extrude that out. The reason that I like to do it that way is that that matches up the edge exactly with what's already in his chest. So, we'll go down to about say…
