Cisco umbrella identities
- [Instructor] An identity in Cisco Umbrella is any entity that we force a policy against and report on. This can range from an entire network down to a single user. To create protection with Cisco Umbrella, we create policies and we add identities to these policies. In the Cisco Umbrella portal, we can register a fixed network by adding this as a network identity. This would be configured with the networks public address space, so that all traffic originating from that address space will be identified to a particular network. We can do that with either IP version four or IP version six. So to do this, we would go to the Deployments menu that we see here on the left and under the Core Identities, we can choose the Networks option, we do have an existing identity here, but if we want to add another, or this is a new deployment, we can simply click the Add button on the top right to add a new network identity.
