- [Instructor] Let's discuss some Cloud Logging and Monitoring best practices. Cloud systems can become increasingly complex due to the dynamic and distributed nature. So it's important that we have end to end visibility into our cloud applications. There are many, many different solutions out there for this, including Splunk, SolarWinds and Logstash just to name a few popular options. These general guidelines that we're going to talk about here apply to cloud logging and monitoring regardless of your tool of choice. And many of these best practices would also apply to local network logging and monitoring. First, you need to know what not to log and monitor. When we log large amounts of data it makes data correlation much harder. Our log storage and management becomes very complex and it becomes difficult to find the data that actually matters. We should be selective when we make this choice.…
