- [Instructor] As we continue our survey of fundamental security concepts, we want to turn our attention specifically towards some software vulnerabilities. We'll talk about some different types of software vulnerabilities in subsequent videos, but here I want to point you to a few specific resources for learning about those. The first being the Common Weakness Enumeration or CWE. You can find that@cwe.mitre.org and here you can browse through their menu options. CWE is a category system for software weaknesses and vulnerabilities. This is what they call a community initiative, meaning that there are numerous contributors that help create this list. And those range from well-known companies to individual, security researchers. If we click on the top on the community section and visit the members sub-menu, you can see a list of those here, and you can see that ranges from companies like Apple and Microsoft, to individual researchers and places like the SANS Institute.
