- [Instructor] If we implement authentication on the Cisco WSA, this allows us to do things such as tracking user activity, integrating with existing authentication infrastructure such as an active directory instance, and to implement policies based on users and groups as opposed to IP addresses. When we do this, WSA will check user authentication before giving them access to the network. This is fairly easy to set up, particularly if we have an existing authentication mechanism in our network which we should, something like an active directory. Which is very common in an enterprise environment. Let's look at how we can configure this with active directory. If we go to the network area from the main admin page, under the identification services subsection, we can choose authentication to get started.
