Autumn reflections: Lights and darks

- So, for our autumn painting, I've chosen this fantastic glowing woodland scene with all these lovely orange autumnal colors and these really beautiful pools of light that are all dotted throughout the scene. For the first stage of the painting, the base pigments are titanium white, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, burnt amber, and cadmium yellow light. The brushes are a size six soft filbert and the small round nylon brush just for the details. But first I'm gonna talk though how I decided on the tonal ground color for this painting. Because there are such fantastic reds and oranges in this image, I'm gonna start with the yellow ochre that has really similar colors and hues to all of these tones down here at the bottom. I'm just going to add a little bit of burnt sienna to add some warmth to the mix. Yeah, that's great. That's a really lovely ground color and because this has had the fluid acrylic it won't need as much diluting with the water so I can just put a few drops on top. And…
