(gentle music) - [Voiceover] I'm now going to paint a quick study using the color strings we've premixed, just to demonstrate the different brush techniques I'd use for a winter scene. I'll be using the square edged brush and a filbert brush, some acrylic glazing liquid gloss, and a paint marker for some fine details. In the winter, the hues are very close in tone, so having a soft transition is key. And this is where the glazing liquid gloss can be really handy because it can give us a bit more working time and enable the pigments to subtly blend in to each other. So you see how I'm keeping all the edges very soft together. So if I had this amount of paint on my brush, and I've got to this stage of the painting, I'll then take most of the paint off the brush. So you can see how when I go on then, not much is coming off of it. And then just dip in. So I've just got a little bit of the glazing liquid onto the bristles.
