A vibrant palette

(piano music) - Summer brings some new challenges, and I'll be introducing some additional pigments to our base colors. So for this color mixing tutorial, I'll be adding Phthalo Blue with a green shade, which is perfect for getting lovely vibrant turquoises and intense greens. And a Naples Yellow, for some really nice buttery yellow skies. I'll also be using the base colors of Titanium White, Burnt Umber, Cadmium Yellow Light, and Ultramarine Blue. So we'll start with the Cadmium Yellow Light, and the Ultramarine Blue. So for that central color in the image, it's looking pretty close. I mean I could add a little bit of white into it. I mean, it's a nice color, but it hasn't quite got enough punch. It'll be a good color to start with, so I'll just put that to one side. But you can see here that the green hues, the dark they've got, they've still got this nice blue tone to it. But if we just stick with Ultramarine Blue, and add that to the Cadmium Yellow, then it just dulls it down, the…
