A warmer winter color palette
(instrumental music) - [Voiceover] So for this next, more illuminated image, I'll be introducing burnt sienna into our base pigments, and this will enable me to mix the brighter colors that I need. So I'll be using titanium white, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, and ultramarine blue. The thing that's striking about this image is this fantastic sunlight coming through, and this real transition here where everything smokes into the background. When we look at it in comparison to the previous image, you can see how this was a lot more muted, a lot more on the yellowy blue hues, and when you change it to this, you can see this is a lot more orange. You've got a lot more intensity from the orange in this foreground. So if you just have the yellow ochre, and added some white to it, just to give us a starting point to look at... You can see it's pretty good for that middle tone. The middle area, this around the sunlight, yellow ochre, again, is going to be such a handy color to use. Again, when…
