A winter color palette with neutrals
- I just want to show you very briefly some neutral grays that have already been mixed in the factory, so they've got a neutral hue to them. And these can be very handy for making quick sketches in winter, because you've got that very neutral, compressed tonal range already mixed for you. So just to illustrate where the neutrals are, if you have a look on the back of them and you can see what they're made from. This one, for example, the neutral six, is a mix of bone black, burnt umber and titanium white. So here we've got the burnt umber and the aquamarine blue. And, as we saw before, when you mix them together, they get a tone that's quite similar to a black tone. So you can mix those together, and then add a little bit of white into it. And you've got a nice, neutral gray tone. So that's just from the burnt umber and the aquamarine blue mixed together. So neutral mixes are just colors that have been mixed together in the factory to give you a neutral tone that doesn't shift one way…
