Add 3D particles
- [Boris] It's time to discuss particles. Particles are created by simulation systems that calculate numerous of our elements moving through space due to the laws of physics. Particles are great for simulating complex systems, such as dust, smoke, sparks, fire, explosions, and so on. For example, with this shot, we can recreate the dust in the background and place it in the foreground. Let's give it a try. I'll create a new solid. Color doesn't matter, but I'll make it the comp size. I'll hide my other layers, and apply the particle effect. There are several particle effects to choose from. But we'll start with Particle Emitter 3D. I'll play that back. You'll see particles are born and move automatically. There are many properties you can adjust to fine-tune the simulation. I'll start with the Emitter section. The Emitter is a point by default, but I can choose a shape, such as box, so they're more spread out.…
