- [Instructor] After Effects is a 2D compositing program, but does include a 3D environment for working in 3D space. Boris Continuum also includes several 3D effects. Let's try the extruded text effect. I have a new project. So I'll create a new composition. HD is fine. I'll create a new solid layer, new solid, color doesn't matter, I'll make it the comp size. With that selected, I go to effects, 3D objects, extruded text, you'll see that this makes three dimensional text with a default material and lighting. I'll go ahead and change the text. To do that, go up to edit text and click. This brings up the standard Boris text editor. I'll backspace, enter a new word or words. You can highlight it here and then adjust the fonts, text size and so on, very standard options. Once you've updated the text, click Apply. The text is passed back to the effect.
