Overview of VR effects
- [Instructor] Our last topic of this course is 360 VR. And 360 VR is a special video format that allows you to capture a 360-degree view of your surroundings. When the video is brought into After Effects, it looks a bit odd. Here's an example in this project. That's because it uses a special format. And this is a common variation called equirectangular. The entire 360 view is spread out and unfolded, just like this. This means that you can't use regular effects when working with a 360 VR. Fortunately, Boris Continuum provides several VR effects. Let's see what we can do. I'll select this layer, go to VR, and we'll try reorient. Now, one useful function of reorient is the ability to preview what it looks like in VR, as if you had a VR headset.
