- Hi, I'm Nigel French, welcome to Type Tips. This week I'd like to show you how we can create these typographic kaleidoscopic effects, using multiple live transformations in Adobe Illustrator. This was suggested to me by this incredible iPad pro app called Amaziograph. I'll recommend that you check this out. If you have an iPad, you can use it to create Medallia's and kaleidoscopic effects with great ease. The only thing is it doesn't have a type tool. So inspired by that, I wanted to create kaleidoscopic effects but based upon type. The basic unit of the kaleidoscope is the triangle which is multiplied several times to create a hexagon. I'm going to begin with the polygon tool. And when using this, you can tap your up or down arrows to add to or remove from the number of sides. I want a six sided object.
