A simple spatter effect

- [Instructor] Hi, I'm Nigel French. Welcome to Type Tips. This week, a very simple technique using Photoshop to give an already provocative piece of type a bit more mystery. What I'm going to do here is use a spatter brush. Now this technique relies upon the type being exactly the same color as the background. So the background is black. I have black as my foreground color, type layer selected. I'll press option or alt, and the backspace delete key to fill the type with black. And now I'm going to add a new layer above the background and beneath the type. And I'm going to paint in white. With my brush, I'm going to come and choose a spatter brush. So I'm working from Kyle Webster's Mega Pack in the ink box group. There are several spatter brushes. This is what I'm going to use, Spatter Punk, which sounds promising. But any spatter brush will do. Adjust your size as necessary. And then just start painting. And…
