- [Narrator] You'll no doubt remember from when we looked at the Visibility panel, not only do we see a textural list of all the different tracks the project has running, though with this empty project, no tracks are added yet. Despite that, we still see the Input and Output options listed here too. These channels relate to what microphone and instrument channels your sound card and audio interface feature. Now, the minimum you'll see Stereo In and Out channels. Let me explain what this means in practice. Obviously, one of the first things you'll need to do with Cubase is connect it to a decent sound card and audio interface, so that we hear any sound generated by audio files, or MIDI files, or VSTI instrument tracks, et cetera, et cetera. Just to remind you, a sound card is a device, which can be slotted into a computer to allow the use of audio components for multimedia applications.
