Direct offline processing

- [Instructor] Here, we'll look at another method of getting our audio tracks to play with effects attached. We'll look at a function panel called direct offline processing, or DOP for short. That, despite using effects we'd use with the insert and send functions, actually embeds the effect into the event. While I say into the event, that's not strictly true. The process adds the effects to a copied version of the event, and this means the original audio remains intact. So we can always go back to it in its pristine state at any point. In our example of it in use here, I'll show you with this piano audio track. Here's a reminder of the piano in isolation and without any effects applied as insert or send effects. It's totally dry.
