- [Instructor] Picking up now with a look at the Loudness meter found in the right zone area within this dual tab panel. Let me give you some overview information about what it displays during mixing and playback, and how it works to produce the constantly updating reading. This Loudness meter allows us to analyze, measure, and monitor the loudness of our project in real time during playback or mixing. The loudness range measures the dynamic range over the whole title in LU, Loudness Units, it then reports the ratio between the loudest and quietest non-silent sections. The audio is divided into small blocks, there is one audio block every second, and each block will last three seconds so that the analyzed blocks overlap. The top 10% of the quiet blocks and the top 5% of the loud blocks are excluded from the final analysis.
