- [Instructor] Picking up from where we left off, let's now look at some of the various MIDI recording modes available to us. Just before we get started though, let's come up to Studio on the menu and then drop down here to where it says On-Screen Keyboard with the shortcut Alt + K. Just as soon as I select like this, I get this small on-screen keyboard as we would expect that can float around and be repositioned wherever we want to use it on our screen. It's a useful virtual keyboard that we can utilize to enter MIDI notes to events if we don't have a hardware MIDI keyboard connected to our PC. To be honest, it's never going to replace a hardware MIDI keyboard, but it is useful if we want to simply enter the occasional note. All we need to do is roll over any of these keys and then click to be able to hear the note playing back.
