- [Instructor] Here I'll go through the process of playing a MIDI keyboard into Cubase, so that we can record our performance. You'll remember, I set up this piano MIDI track in the last tutorial as a rack instrument. Incidentally, ensure you have it activated for playback by engaging the button there. And this will be active automatically upon creating a rack instrument. But if you want to save CPU, you can deactivate it when you don't need to hear it. Something else that we can do here is collapse the panel and its controls. We'd likely do this if we have a lot of VSTi set up and we want to save some space. I'll collapse GrooveAgentSE, too. Right, I'll now create an instrument track for another piano VSTi by clicking that button once again. I'll navigate to the Steinberg folder and close the drum subfolder and open up the piano subfolder so I can access The Grand 3. This is one of Steinberg's piano VSTis.
