- I will now look at using an audible aid to help us keep time when recording into Cubase, be that audio or media recording. As a quick reminder, here's how we adapted the time signature, and tempo change tracks. I've tidied up the project since the last tutorial, in that I'm now looped around bar two and six. And it's much more clear now how the time signature changes are indicated on the ruler. We see the project starts with 4/4 time, with its four division points, the beats between the bars, before changing to 3/4 time, with its three beats. Then we go back to 4/4 time, with four beats again, before finally changing to 5/4 time, that has five beats, before cycling back to the start at bar two again. When recording media or audio parts for any project, I tend to use a repeated drum loop groove to keep me in time. This offers me a more natural-sounding performance when recording. However, if you'd prefer to use a steady pulsing sound to keep you in time, there is just that option…
