- [Instructor] Picking up from where we left off, I'll continue looking at using rack and track instruments in this tutorial. It's often asked what is the difference between the two types of instruments. Well, in practical terms, there isn't really any significant difference these days. It's probably enough to know that rack instruments make it simple to use multitimbral VSTis, ie: VSTis that have multiple outputs. Now here we have this instrument track set up and driving Steinberg's Groove Agent SE. Groove Agent SE comes free with Cubase Pro. You can get a bigger version of it called Groove Agent 5, but you will need to buy that. Anyway, we added this instance of Groove Agent SE by clicking the Add Instrument Track button there. And we know it's an instrument track when we glance at the VSTi panel because the little arrow next to track is pointing upwards in the mini controls area.
