- [Instructor] Moving on from listening to the start of the song heard in the last tutorial. Let's look more closely how the ostensibly confusing Cubase user interface is constructed. Admittedly, it does look confusing initially. But once we understand it is broken down into functional zones, it becomes much easier to follow and operate. Before I do anything else, I'm going to deactivate the MIDI drum track by coming over to the right zone where we see the VSTi panel. This panel, at present, is hosting this EZdrummer MIDI drum VSTi. A VSTi is a name, or acronym, for Virtual Studio Technology instrument, for some form of MIDI-generated sound source. In this case, I'm using a MIDI-generated drum sound source. I'll cover the use of VSTis later. For now, I'll deactivate it, simply to save some CPU. Over at the left, we see the list of tracks that constitute this project.
