- Now Rich, when it comes to audio obviously we can split the signal so we can hear and get things in at the same time. - Yeah. - But what do we do about the actual microphone? What's our best bet? - Well, there's a couple of choices. If you're running around an event I'd go with one of your sort of standard DSLR cold shoot mount type mics like that. - Now what makes these interesting compared to a traditional shotgun that you might find on a professional video camera is the connection itself. It's a stereo 1/8 inch jack that's going to plug into our splitter or directly into the device. You're not going to have good luck with the XLR type shotgun without having to adapt it and do some sort of gymnastics with the cabling to make that work. So these DSLR specific ones are the ones you're going to want to go after. - Yep, and I can plug in, I'm able to hear things, definitely working. - [Robbie] Yep. - And so this is running through.
