- So, Rich when we began off this week, we mentioned that the fast prime lenses are kind of an addiction, and I can attest to that, I have a rather large collection of lenses that I keep acquiring, and the problem of course is that I acquire different prime lenses fast lenses for different camera systems that I use. So I end up with I have Canon lenses, I have third party lenses, and you know the reason to shoot with a fast lens in my mind is two or three fold. First, you want to have most light gathering capability that you can have, and shooting wide open on a very fast lens, you know F1.2/1.4 is going to let in a lot of light compared to say consumer lenses that you'll find out there you know, slower lenses that might be a F3.4 or F4, that's a couple stops different. - Well it really depends on your style of shooting. For example here I've got a decent Lumix lens, and this lens goes down to 1.4. That's an attractive lens 25 millimeter, this is a very reasonable prime type lens, and…
