Drawbacks of using a wireless mic
- Now, Cheryl, before we get into some of the specific drawbacks of wireless lav systems, let's just talk about one or two drawbacks of just lavs in general, right? Now the biggest one that I see happening and I've experienced this in my own production work, is clothes rustling. - It's the bane of any audio post mixer, is the clothes rustling. There's not a lot that you can do to control it, except for you can tape, on the skin, away from any clothes. As a sound location person you can also bring fabric softener, so that, you know, if the clothes haven't been laundered or they're heavy starch, you can probably soften it up a little bit. - But it's an issue, right? - It's a big issue. - It's something you run into, I mean I think that the other thing I find, sort of, in general about lavs, not wireless lavs in particular, but just lavs in general, is that they do suffer a little bit, from the proximity effect, right?
