Splitting the audio jack
- The challenge with the iPad, iPhone, everything else, there is only one port. - Yeah, and it's not the greatest port in the world. I mean, there's two ports if you're honest with yourself, there's a headphone port, and then there's either sort of a charging data port, whether that's going to be a lightning connector or the more traditional wide connector that the iPad uses. - Yeah, so what we're going to do here is we're going to split this port, and this is just a standard Y cable. You can get it from just about anywhere, and it takes it from the headphone, microphone jack into two separate ports. Essentially, if you look at the end of the cable there is a difference between these two. If it's a headphone cable it's got one black band. When it's a headphone/microphone cable, it's got two black bands, and that's how you know the type of plug it is.
