This is Troika

Kristen Olsen: So what is Troika? Troika is a design company that specializes in branding for television. We do network packages. We have just launched the new look for Fox, ABC, Oxygen, Starz. Mark McConnell: ESPN Sportscenter. Kristen Olsen: TruTv, just to name a few. Mark McConnell: Now Troika is located on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood. We are about 25 people. We have got designers, animators, producers. Kristen Olsen: Creative Directors, editors. Troika is a really collaborative environment. We have separate rooms where animators are grouped together, designers are grouped together and we do that so that people can share work, share ideas, brainstorm together. It's not about working individually; it's really about everyone jumping in together. Mark McConnell: We tend to focus on teams. Every project will have a team that's comprised of a mix of an Executive Creative Director or Creative Director and then designers and animators and whatever else is needed underneath that. We work with our own staff as far as we can and then we also rely on a lot of freelancers from the creative community in Hollywood. Kristen Olsen: Projects also have an Executive Producer, a Producer and a coordinator assigned to them. So there are layers of support from the Production Department. We put together the budget and the schedule and we correspond with the client to make sure that our goals are clear, so that the project is being handled in an organized fashion. Troika really prides themselves on being creative and also being very professional. Our clients really appreciate all the time and effort that goes into a well-organized project. I would say that one of the coolest things about Troika is we have a lot of fun, but we are also a really well oiled machine. We have our staff members as well as freelancers that we work with. Some of our freelancers have been here since the very beginning. Mark McConnell: Perma-lancers. Kristen Olsen: So we have a lot of experts that we call in depending on what we need for the project. But regardless of staff or freelance, everyone really enjoys working together. Mark McConnell: It's about creating a positive working environment, so that people can concentrate on the work at hand and enjoy the work at hand. Kristen Olsen: And there aren't too many companies like Troika out there. So it's a privilege to be able to work here and to be collaborative with such great creative people and to produce such amazing work.
