So now, we can bring all of these elements together, from having one directional light hitting the subject, choosing a subject that's got a strong shadow pattern, looking for a wide tonal range, and having hard and soft, smokey edges to give that illusion of form. I have chosen this image here of Kezzy, sitting in the evening sun next to me. And, the photo was taken with my phone, just in natural light, and it's just really to illustrate that when you know what you are looking for, you don't need expensive equipment or extra lighting. You have just got to look for those shadow shapes and that strong cast shadow within the subject that you are looking at. So, we're now going to pull all the techniques we've learned so far together using tonal ground, charcoal and chalk, and we should make a really nice drawing. So, let's get started.
