Pencils, paper, and chalk

So I'm just going to go through materials we're going to be using on this course. The first thing is just a couple of pencils, a 2B and a 6B. If you haven't got a 2B, just a 3B or a 7B, any one that's got a reasonable hardness and a reasonable softness. If you want to learn about the pencils more in depth, have a look at The Foundations of Drawing course. For the erasers for this course, we're going to be using a plastic eraser, and also a putty eraser. These are both putty erasers, this white one and the gray one. They're just quite similar, just the gray one's just a bit more putty, it's gotta bit more movement to it. But they'll both do exactly the same job of being able to move the eraser around for more smudging effects. Also for really fine detailed works, then you really use this on very detailed drawings that I'm working on and this is a precision eraser. It looks just like a pencil, but it's actually got a tip on it which is an eraser. So for really little spots, just to pick…
