Now, you've seen how easily you can create form using tonal paper. We're going to see how you can use dogs to create a strong compositional element within your drawing. Using your paper stamp we can create a smarter effect by blending th edges of the charcoal to give atmosphere renewed to the piece. This is the fantastic Singer Sargent study, it's full of atmosphere and movement. And, look at the great fall of light on it, it's got really brilliant strong dark shadows, and it's going to be perfect to base our next study on. We're going to be using a velvet grey tone of paper. This is by Strathmore art paper. You can start to see the tone of it is in terms of if it's light and dark, is pretty close to this background tone. Quite close to this skin tones as well. So, it's a really good base tone to work from for this particular scene. So, for this example, I'm going to be using some charcoal. This is a Nitram charcoal. And, this is a HB.
