Color matching

- One of the main skills you have to learn when you come to painting is how to mix and match a color accurately. I'm gonna go through a three-stage process, using our five-color palette, on how you can approach accurately mixing colors every time. When you look at a reference image that you're working from, then the finished painting that you get, you've gotta be aware of how you can match the blues to the sky, or this muted green down here, to the bottom of the painting, and how we can mix those colors, a very bright blue, and a muted green, but still using the same simple five-color palette. For example, to try and color match this swatch here, you go for a process, and look at its hue, its value, and its saturation. The hue is just the color of the pigment. In comparison to when we looked at the hue on the paint tube, where this labeling hue denoted there were different pigments used to create the actual paint, you can see here the different pigments used.
