Mixing color strings

- So now we've got our drawing laid out. We can start to mix the tonal string for the painting. So when we have a locally reference image, you can see how all these warm colors are underneath elements of the clouds and elements here on the foreground. So now what we're going to mix is some colors that can go over the top of this warm under ground that we've got. So the first one that I'm going to mix is the darkest tone for the painting, not the very, very darkest because the very darkest out here we'll be able to use the burnt umber to create that, this burnt umber straight from the tube. But the next darkest is this gray tone here that's very similar in tone and color to the area that's down here into the sea. So to start with, we'll go for the exact same principle as before to mix these color strings. The first thing is this hue. And because it's quite hard to see its hue because it's got a gray tone to it, what I'm going to start with is the blue. I want to hold that. So that's…
