Which brush to choose?

- When choosing brushes often the biggest stumbling block is an indecision because there's just so many different ones that choose from. I find it's best when you're first starting just to start with a couple of brushes and keep it really simple. This way you'll learn how to handle a brush and you'll start to find out which brushes you prefer in your painting. The three most common shapes that you have in brushes are a flat brush, a filbert brush and a round brush. Here are the three different ones. You can start to see immediately the different shapes that are there. The flat brush is exactly that, it's flat and it's got a very sharp angle to it. The filbert brush is just a flat brush that has been trimmed at the sides so it's got this nice curve to it. A round brush is just exactly that, a round is exactly the same all the way around the brush.
