- Here's a visual editing detail. Cropping is all about edges, so pay attention to what's happening out there. In this case, the flying snow right at the edge leaves a distracting blue sliver. Either crop it out, it takes almost nothing, or open the frame so the sliver goes away. In the case of the wagon wheel, there's a sliver between the rim and the edge of the frame. But here it's okay, because the contrast is so low, we can't see it. It just blends into the grass. What you want to avoid in this case, is putting the edge of the wheel right on the edge of the frame. This creates an interaction. Basically, pressure between wheel and frame, that adds some movement at that spot, which comes from the converging lines. The problem being that the wheel isn't moving. A good solution is to widen the frame, which solves any edge interaction and in this case, reveals a nice windmill off in the distance.
