Adding and formatting a footnote
- [Lecturer] Our next step is to address the issue of footnotes. As it turns out, this document, this book has just one footnote. But I'm going to approach this as if it had multiple. It's on page 142 and currently it's just entered into the text flow. I want to cut it from the text flow and make it into a real footnote and establish a character style and paragraph style that will apply to the different elements of the footnote. I'll begin by deleting these asterisks. Then I'll select the footnote text and cut that command Control+X. Now I will come to the footnote position and from the Type menu, I'm going to choose Insert Footnote. That's going to put my footnote at the bottom of the page and I will paste the text command Control+V and then just delete the paragraph mark at the end. All right, now to work on the appearance of the footnote, I will come to the Type menu and to Document Footnote Options.
